La Grange French Steakhouse in Yardley, Pennsylvania, Celebrates Stylish First Anniversary on Thursday, May 7

Dining at La Grange French steakhouse is a feast for all of our senses.

The restaurant is set inside a beautifully restored 200-year-old stone barn in Yardley, Pennsylvania, and blends French-inspired cuisine with warm and inviting hospitality, curated ambiance, and meticulous attention to detail – highlighted by the scratch-made menu and highly attentive servers.

La Grange is a family-driven venture rooted in hospitality and a passion for exceptional dining. The décor includes works of art displayed throughout the inviting space created by a French street artist.

On May 7, La Grange celebrates its first anniversary with a lively evening featuring a DJ, complimentary samples, and specialty beverages — an RSVP is not required.

Behind the restaurant is a true family operation. Owners Vince and Donna Masso run La Grange alongside their son Marc, building on more than 50 years of hospitality experience and the success of their longtime Newtown family-style Italian restaurant, La Stalla.

“To succeed in hospitality, it has to be your passion,” says Donna, “We believe that La Grange is quite a gem, and we are enjoying that the community is getting to know us and letting us celebrate with them more each day.”

That passion shows up everywhere — especially on the menu. Guests can enjoy house-made baguettes and croissants, fresh tagliatelle, and homemade gelato crafted by an imported Italian machine.

The offerings range from traditional French onion soup and escargot to prime steaks, to the Marcona almonds on the taste-tempting cheese boards. There is also an inviting oyster/seafood bar with fresh oysters, clams, shrimp, snow crab claws, and other delicacies. The menu is updated on a weekly basis to keep everything new for the many regular customers.

Signature dishes include a French dip made with shaved filet on a house-made baguette, classic beef bourguignon, braised lamb shank, duck confit, and fresh seafood like halibut, scallops, salmon, and trout meunière. A children’s menu ensures there’s something for everyone in the family.

Desserts are just as memorable, from crème Brulé and lemon tart to cheesecake and a trio of house-made gelatos.

For Vince, the heart of the restaurant is connection. “It’s about doing everything that you can to make people feel like part of our family,” he says. “When they walk through the door, we want them to feel cared for. For me, what has resonated the most is getting to know the people and becoming part of their lives.”

That philosophy has made La Grange a go-to destination for life’s biggest moments — birthdays, engagements, weddings, baby showers, and even more intimate gatherings.

“We have couples who met here or became engaged here, and now they bring in their baby for us to coo over,” Donna says. “We’ve watched guests celebrate milestones with us for years. It gives me chills how they become part of our family, and we become an integral part of theirs.”

Marc Masso plays a key role in bringing those moments to life, handling events with care and sensitivity, including funeral luncheons.

Marc, who has operated La Stalla for 25 years, says he is excited to celebrate a successful year of their new venture at La Grange. “Both have a warm, family-type of vibe with a French brasserie feel with prime steaks,” he says. “We are taking it to the second year with a new vision and a newer menu.”

He added that the staff and the owners of both restaurants enjoy what they do, and this translates to the clientele. “We have an energy of kindness and gratitude, and the key is everyone enjoying themselves, which makes it a memorable experience for all of our guests,” he added.

For Marc, “when you start something new, you never know if you can duplicate that energy. But we did something fresh and new, putting all of our love into it, and it has manifested for the guests. There is nothing better than watching them enjoy our food.”

In the kitchen, Chef Peter Woolsey leads a menu rooted in classic steakhouse tradition with refined French touches, delivering dishes that are both elevated and comforting.

Woosley eagerly admits that when he came to La Grange, he became part of a new extended family. Everyone in the staff, from the kitchen to the floor, exudes a great deal of pride in their role of delivering their best.

Cole Caprioni, formerly the head chef at Rocco’s at the Brick, is another “valuable addition to the staff,” Donna and Vince agree. One of the main ways was use his expertise to help them pilot their prime steak program.

At the bar, beverage director Danielle “Weezy” Messina curates an extensive wine list and crafts balanced cocktails with subtle French influences. She also hosts popular Wednesday night mixology classes that quickly turn guests into regulars.

“Looking back at three generations of the Masso family in the restaurant business, it feels very gratifying for us,” Donna says. “To have these places that are so well known and so well-loved, and all those memories from our patrons, we feel very humble and grateful about all of this
